Smart Voucher Army

SmartVoucher is an online tool that makes it easier for Army active duty, reserve, and mobilized National Guard Soldiers to complete error-free temporary duty travel vouchers. The tool can be accessed anytime and anywhere with a CAC or myPay login and password. The program will guide you through a series of questions and then create a completed DD Form 1351-2 travel voucher. You can also upload your required documents to the system.
The smart voucher is a huge change for the Army, improving morale and getting money into soldiers’ pockets faster than ever before. The program allows Soldiers to file their PCS travel vouchers online without having to visit a DFAS office. With this system, soldiers can be paid up to 50 percent faster. DFAS developed The smart voucher almost eleven years ago to automate the Army’s temporary duty and permanent change of station (PCS) travel voucher process. Smart Voucher is available to any soldier with a Common Access Card or myPay login. It also provides convenience for submitting travel vouchers from anywhere in the world.
PCS Travel Vouchers
SmartVoucher makes it easier to complete PCS travel vouchers (DD Form 1351-2) error-free by guiding you step-by-step through a series of questions. It then creates a completed DD Form and fills all required fields. You can access SmartVoucher through your myPay username and password or CAC card. This tool is only available for military pay vouchers that have not been processed through the Defense Travel System and is not used for civilian relocation moves.
DFAS Indianapolis is working on some big upgrades that will take the SmartVoucher process even further, which should help reduce the number of errors in PCS travel vouchers. It will also allow Soldiers to get status updates as their claim is approved. In the future, Soldiers will be able to get text and email alerts as their claims move through the process. This could make the process of filing a travel voucher up to 50 percent faster than it currently is. This is a huge improvement for the military and for Soldiers. It’s another way DFAS is making it easier for Soldiers to get the pay they deserve.
Once submitted, the travel claim is sent to DFAS Rome for processing or to an AMPO for review. Soldiers can track the status of their claims and receive text and email alerts as they move through the process. How Do I Check the Status of My Army Smart Voucher?
A military member with a myPay account can use the tool to check their voucher status. This will give them an idea of how long it may take for the money to be available in their account. It will also show whether or not the voucher has been approved by DFAS. If the voucher is not yet available, it will need to be corrected and returned to DFAS for review.
The Army is moving to an online system called SmartVoucher to reduce the amount of paper that soldiers need to complete before being paid for their travel. It has already started using the new system in Japan, and it will be mandatory for troops going to Germany, Italy, and Belgium.
